Aggrey,

I see where you're coming from but that would make the operation completely unlogistical.  Think of the implications of placing one aircraft here and another here.  And the operation of schedules would be horrendous.  This is why LHR was choosen as a second hub only to serve as a go-between for the longer flights so that folks didn't or couldn't fly schedules 16 hours long.

I give you BA for example, They only have main hubs in the UK.  The reason for this is that it would be uneconomical to operate by any other means.

I hope this answers your questions.  If not, I would be pleased to respond to anymore you have.  And thanks for your continued discussion.  It shows folks that everyone's opinion is important and matters.

They are a British airline and they dont have traffic rights to do much outside the UK.

That may be true for now, though don't forget that they're now using EGLL as a "mini-hub" as well for operations under the Open Skies Agreement. For a Middle Eastern Carrier, our position in Dubai is perfect for Asia, but a bit limited for North America. A stop-over in London would make a lot of sense for fuel economy and ensuring a profitable route segment (and don't forget that GlobalOne has a mini-hub in EGLL as well)!

Getting back to topic, I've come across a few more errors for you to change Mark, (or anyone that can). The AN531 OJAI-HAAB is listed in the schedules as using an A340, when it should be a 321, although the return leg is correct.

Also for these flights I think someone worked the distances, and therefor times out wrong. Schedule is 2.15 o/b and 1.15 i/b (I think i/b was meant to be 2.15), but anyway they're far too short. Outbound took me 3.35 and inbound was 3.40. I reckon about 3.45 for each should be about right.

Cheers                    Chris

That's brilliant Chris.  Many thanks for your input.  I'll amend the flights accordingly. Please remember folks, we welcome all observations/critisms/feedback. If we don't get any, we can't improve YOUR VA.  ;)
