Major Annoucement - Fleet - Division.

March 2nd, 2008 by Luke Harvest - COO

-Fleet Enhancement

Currently ARABIAN is going through a major fleet change, i’m going give you an outline of what to expect over the coming months:

Simplification of current mainline fleet - the current mainline fleet (747, A318, A319, A320, A321, A310, A330-200, A330-300, A340-200, A340-300, A340-500, A340-600, MD-11). It was a unanimous decision, amongst executive staff that we should consolidate the fleet to make it more economic and easier to maintain.

The new fleet will be as follows:
A319
A330-200
A340-300
A340-500

We will be keeping the 747s, which operate Hadj charter during the winter, and will operate a demand charter duing the rest of the year.

The a318 will be also remaining in the fleet; and it will be a part of our new service named, ARABIAN|THAHAB. this new service will consist of the single A318, and we will be leasing a B767-3Z9ER to accompny the A318. The purpose of this service is geared towards business, both aircraft will be completely fitted with our famous single class ARBusiness, and will offer numerous flights, to London, Paris, New York and Bhutan. To avoid the rush of Major airports, we will be serving the smaller Airfields at these locations. The A318 will fly to London City Aiport, whilst the 767-300 will fly to Stansted. In New York the 767-300 will be flying to La Guardia. Furthermore in Paris we will be Serving Paris Orly. We feel this will better suit our Business customers whom wish to arrive to their destination quickly, without hassle, free of congestion.

As already announced Al-Mirat will be coming into service shortly; it’s a regional service, and the fleet will consist of MD-82s and 737-700s, serving destinations around the Middle East and North Africa. Both Aircraft will only offer a single Economy class.

The final major annoucement is the introduction of ARABIAN’s own Logistic service. Cargo demands for imports and exports in the Middle East have been rapidly increasing over the last few years; and we feel it necessary to open up some opportunity and competition for surrounding Business’ and Airline’s.
In order to drive costs for this new Division down, we’re procuring second hand aircraft. Both the MD-11 and B727-200RE will be purchased and offer a wide range of destinations, directed at industrial areas and areas of high popularily in the Logistics Industry.

From the simplification of our Mainline fleet, although we will have a similar number of aircraft in the Mainline fleet, just more of the individual aircraft, we have been able to afford all three projects simultaneously, and the implimentation of ARABIAN|THAHAB, Al-Mirat and Logistics are expected to arise from ARABIAN this year.

In the next few weeks expect to hear annoucements regarding the development of both the Website, and numerous other things in the Pipeline for Arabian.

Arabian Airlines November 2007 Press Release

November 24th, 2007 by arb_ceo

Arabian Airlines Major Press Release November 24, 2007
Queen Alia International Airport
Amman, Jordan
http://www.ArabianVA.com

=========

Arabian Airlines CEO Mahmoud Fadli announced the airline’s current progress report to the public two months after the airline returned to full capacity operation.

According to Fadli, the airline saw healthy profits for the first two months of operations, and has voted to go ahead with three programs the airline was putting on hold until the company’s board of directors were convinced that the airline’s current operations can generate the necessary profits.

The first program, dubbed “Arabian Version Two,” has officially been launched, with the first meeting between airline management and web designers to be held on Sunday (25-November) to begin planning the airline’s newest website system. According to sources close to the management, the new system will further expand the current features on the website in a manner that is more user friendly, and innovating. Airline CEO Mahmoud Fadli elaborated on this new project, telling reporters that “Arabian has already come a long way in its development, and that does not mean that we should stop here… we are planning on further developing our website and operations systems, as well as releasing the Kneeboard system which has seem small hiccups here and there.” The “Kneeboard System,” developed by the airline’s chief webmaster James Norman, is undergoing its final stages of testing, with the problem being called simply a “matter of cookies” by the management, which prompted laughter amongst the journalists present at the conference.

Fadli further announced that Arabian has begun the first stages of a new cargo division, dubbed “Arabian Logistics.” The division, initially to be operated by second hand 727 freighter aircraft, is to operate out of the company’s Amman and Dubai hubs, offering scheduled cargo and charter operations. Fadli further told reporters that the airline had entered the final phase of negotiations with partner Western Virtual Airlines over the purchase of their remaining MD-11 aircraft, to be converted for freighter operation. Though no solid date was given to the launch of this new division, the airline hinted at a possible second quarter 2008 launch with the first five Boeing 727 aircraft.

Further surprising analysts was Arabian’s announcement of a new venture dubbed “Al Mirat,” which, according to sources within Arabian, is a low cost start up based at Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport.

Arabian Airlines has opted to invest in 51% of the start up’s operations, which include the purchase of several former American Airlines MD-80 aircraft for regional operations within the Middle East and North Africa. Airline CEO Mahmoud Fadli told reporters that this was “a unique opportunity to not only help the growing aviation industry in Jordan, but to allow Arabian to subsidize its Middle Eastern routes to an airline that not only operates at Arabian’s standards, but provides the service at an affordable cost due to the increased efficiency… in this airline’s operations.” Many analysts, however, are skeptical about this new venture, with some even suggesting that Arabian Airlines was risking “too much;” however, Fadli told reporters that the airline “ran its numbers very thoroughly, and saw that this venture is the most profitable route to take for Arabian.”

The remaining shareholders with the 49% of Al Mirat’s funding were withheld from the press, with Fadli telling reporters that more press releases about the start up were coming.

Many travelers to not know about the sole A318 that Arabian Airlines operates on charter services, however, the company has decided to make this information, and service, available to the traveling public, as opposed to wealthy investors who need a quick hop from point A to point B. The A318, with a 50 passenger, all business layout, will be offering “Arabian Executive” service in and out of small cities within the Middle East, Africa, and Europe and costs comparable to full fair “Traveler” (Economy) tickets on Arabian’s mainline network. The airline hopes to experiment with this service to see how profitable it is; according to Fadli, if the experiment is successful, Arabian will expand its executive service to include ten A318s by 2009.

Arabian Airlines has received the first of two A340-600 aircraft for use in its mainline operations. The aircraft, dubbed “The Arab Spirit,” arrived in Dubai last Sunday, and has been used on familiarization flights for newly trained flight crews. The aircraft is expected to enter service by next Sunday.

Arabian Airlines has revealed two A340-300 aircraft in their new scheme, which is to eventually be on all aircraft by this time next year. The A340-300s will be available on Arabian’s website fairly soon.

At last, the day has finally come.

September 19th, 2007 by arb_ceo

It almost brings a tear to my eye to think about all the hard work we’ve all put in to Arabian, and the amount of pride I have knowing that my staff, friends, and family have supported me and Arabian through all the hard times we’ve endured.

I open my heart, and Arabian, to the public, and the press release below says it all. May Arabian has smooth skies, clear skies, and success, ahead of it.

After a long, two-year hiatus, Arabian Airlines reopens its doors to the public.

After two years of constant redevelopment following the catastrophic intermation server and website failure that led the airline to shut down its online operations, Arabian Airlines has announced that it has reopened its doors in what it calls “Phase one” of relaunch.

Arabian Airlines CEO Mahmoud Fadli explained. “Arabian has been working very hard to get to this day where we can say, with confidence, that we have opened our doors and are here to stay. We have taken considerable time and effort even in the most basic of things to ensure that all is up to the standards that we have come to appreciate for Arabian… and this is simply phase one of our relaunch process, which includes the unveiling of our website and fleet, along with a slight preview of what the future holds for Arabian.”

Though the website may be considered ‘basic’ by some, airline CEO Mahmoud Fadli told reporters that “they shouldn’t worry about that… there’s more to come.”

Phases of Relaunch

The airline announced that its relaunch will be conducted in four phases, with the details of the last two phases not yet released.

Phase one will entail the launching of the first version of the website and the “in transition fleet.”

The website’s features will simply be dubbed as version 1, with version 2 entailing more advanced interface options and operations systems that have yet to be announced by the airline’s management. This phase will be followed by a phase 1 transition phase, which will be marked by the release of Arabian’s temporary ACARS system dubbed “kneeboard,” as well as their in depth pilot’s handbook.

The “in transition fleet” will include aircraft in three schemes, the Arabian Classic Scheme, the transitional title scheme, and the new scheme, which has been implemented in secret six months ago on a few selected aircraft. Fadli further went on to say that pilots and enthusiasts alike should “be on the lookout” for many “surprises” within the fleet, including special schemes and scheme variations.

Phase Two

Arabian’s “Phase Two” of their long awaited launch will include the release of information regarding their long await ACARS program, which was secretly funded by and developed by members of Arabian’s senior staff and hired developers.

In addition to that, pilots would be able to expect a more advanced interface system built from the ground up, integrated to the current Arabian Airlines operations systems.

When questioned about ‘phase two,’ Fadli told reporters that if he were to “spill the beans about what’s to come, there wouldn’t be any need for a good Public Relations department,” leaving many reporters and observers in the room chuckling at the light hearted stab at questioning.

The Launch

Despite the technical details of this launch, airline CEO Mahmoud Fadli told reporters that “this was a profound time in the life of Arabian, and there are many new features and surprises that can be found on our website… and we invite all to join and begin flying for Arabian Airlines.”

Over the next few days the airline will continue to work on small upgrades throughout the site as it is further improved to accommodate for the expected surge in operations.

Founded in 2001, Arabian Airlines is one of the longest lasting Middle Eastern virtual airlines in the entire industry. The airline, having worked over a year, from the ground up, on this new system, has high hopes for the future, one that will hopefully bring about a newer standard for Middle Eastern Virtual Aviation, and Virtual Aviation as a whole.

Credits & A statement from the CEO

“This moment is one that we’ve all waited for, and one that I’ve looked forward to for over two years. We’ve gone from an idea, a concept, to a full fledged operation, and I couldn’t have done it alone.

“I’d like to take the time to thank our brilliant webmaster, Mr. James Norman for his hard and long work on out website, and our Assistant Webmaster, Ivan Kovacevic for his constant support and advice during the development process.

“I’d also like to take the time to thank our new Chief Operations Officer, Luke Harvest, to his heartfelt dedication to the airline, and his hard work in redeveloping our timetables and operation’s handbook.

“Mr. Brian T. Brooks, our CFO who has been with the airline for over 5 and a half years.

“Folks like Eisa Emami, Amr AbuShamat, Aly Dessouki, Brandon McKewon, Mr. Dennis Kirpitchenko, and Brandon Acton-Bond, who have given so much for this airline and have brought us to the point that we have reached; without any of these people, Arabian would not be here.

“It is with this in mind that I would like to take the time to welcome you to Arabian Airlines, and I truly hope you enjoy your time with us. Asalaamoualaikum, and Ahlan Wa Sahlan. Welcome aboard.”

- Mahmoud A. Fadli, Airline Founder, President, & CEO.

Future Plans…

September 7th, 2007 by Luke Harvest - COO

International Middle Eastern carrier, Arabian Airlines, announced this morning its plans for the airline’s future. At 9.45am, Dubai local time, Mr. Mahmoud A. Fadli, Chief Executive Officer, and Mr. Luke Harvest, Chief Operations Officer, appeared in front of the press to announce a decision that airline’s board had made the night before.

“Both Mr. Harvest and I have been discussing this, prior to the meeting,” said Fadli, “and we both feel that the overall decision is something we are passionate about… something that will ensure the progress and longevity of Arabian in the airline industry.”

Mr. Fadli went on to say that “the decision basically entails two major expansion plans, and a simplification of the current fleet, all to improve efficiency and the ability for Arabian to tap into the markets that it has seen huge success in.”

After the initial press release, Airline Chief Operations Officer Mr. Luke Harvest told reporters more about the upcoming plans for the airline.

“One thing we didn’t want to happen was for pilots to lose their jobs over the simplification,” said Mr. Harvest, telling reporters that “one of the hardest things to do was to make these cutbacks whilst retaining their jobs within the airline. It was difficult but it’s something we have now perfected and the plans are going ahead.”

Mr. Harvest continued, saying that “the plans are definitely a positive prospect for the airline… with the opening of two new divisions we have multinational companies backing us, in terms of financial support, and the next few months are going to be a difficult time for us; we have a lot of work to do, in terms of funding these new aircraft. Selling on our current aircraft shouldn’t be a problem. A lot of interest has already been displayed by a number of potential buyers.”

News about Arabian has been increasing dramatically over the last four months, this, and a confirmation from Mr. Fadli, leads us to believe that the website is very nearly complete and ready for business.

It’s so close.

August 9th, 2007 by Luke Harvest - COO

I’ve never been able to reliably say this until now: we’re very, very close to opening. Yes, that’s right, opening… well, RE-opening is more like it. We’ve been offline for over a year, working as hard as we can to rebuild our website, and now, we’re almost good to go. Probably two weeks is the most reliable count; we’ve got two, not one, but two webmasters working on this project, and both of them know their stuff, and know it well.

So what’s left to do? Just to give you an idea of how many things are happening at the same time… Static materials (aka descriptions and what not), Airline SOP (which is being done as we speak), aircraft manuals (which are ALSO being done as we speak), THEARABIANSTORE dutyfree Cafepress store (which is being arranged at the moment), TravelerMagazine’s website (which is going to be compeleted soon by myself), GlobalOne Alliance Website (which is being worked on by one of the webmasters), timetables (which are 90% complete and in the process of being uploaded to the website [yes! The website is ALREADY functional folks!]), Public Relations materials (pretty much done, just minor touching up), and then a few other features that are 90% complete but I can’t mention due to the fact that they’re surprises.

Speaking of surprises… we’ve got a few in store in our fleet. If you look to past press realize you’ll realize what I’m talking about. If you don’t, then don’t worry, you’re going to be in for something grand! But I will leak one thing to you: of the five A340-500 orders, two have been converted to A340-600. Why? You’ll find out soon enough.

I can’t wait to open this up to the world once again, and I’m sure you that you can’t wait either. The opening is just the first stage… first stage of what? You’ll soon find out.

That’s all I’m leaking, for now.

Arabian Airlines Major Press Release:

August 6th, 2007 by Luke Harvest - COO

Latest News Update as on August 6, 2007
Arabian Airlines Major Press Release
August 6, 2007 | Amman, Jordan

Amman, Jordan
Arabian Airlines CEO Mahmoud Fadli, along with newly appointed staff and Webmaster James Norman, announced the latest developments in the continued preparation of the airline for operations. Below are the details.

New PiRep System
Airline Webmaster James Norman revealed the basic details of the airline’s current PiRep filing system, dubbed “Kneeboard.” The system, according to Mr. Norman, would make obsolete the need for pilots to log in to the airline website to file their reports. The new system will be an amendment to the existing Flight Simulator 2004/X kneeboard and will allow pilots to update the airline’s database on the status of their flight by simply clicking buttons, and will function regardless if the pilot is flying on VATSIM. The kneeboard would expedite Pilot Reports and will allow the public to receive live flight updates through the airline’s website. This feature will be in beta testing for the next two weeks.

New Forum
Arabian’s forums have received a makeover with some previews of the new features for the airline. To see the forum, please visit www.ArabianVA.com/forum.

Airline website to enter beta testing in approximately one week
Airline CEO Mahmoud Fadli announced that the airline’s website will enter its beta testing phase in one week to ensure that there are no bugs before operations. The beta testing period is expected to last approximately one week, with one week set aside for bug fixes. The beta team has been assembled and more information will be released when available.

Surprises
Airline CEO Mahmoud Fadli told reporters that new pilots should expect several, not-to-be-announced surprises that would require some “investigating” to be noticed.

Timeline
The airline is expecting to be operational within three weeks, with the result of this delay being the continued development and completion of the Kneeboard feature.

In Serious Need of an Update

June 29th, 2007 by Luke Harvest - COO

Well here goes the first update in a while. So, here it goes.

First of all: www.arabianva.com/test.

This is an example of our ’static’ site. There’s no automation there, just the site as it will hopefully look. We have another example of this site, but automated. But why am I showing you this? Well, this is how it will look, and the other is how it will operate (I know, an odd way of development, but we know what we’re doing). Soon, we’ll be taking the aesthetics from the static site and put it together with the dynamic site to give you the finished product (soon!). Now, the thing about the static site is that it’s not done; there are broken links, etc. that need to be fixed and content that needs to be inserted. Give us a day or so and we’ll have it all done for you.

Secondly… well, there is no secondly (well no secondly that I can SHOW you). Well, actually, I can tell you something. Be prepared for a few surprises once Arabian opens in July. We have a few things in store, and we’re waiting for you to discover them! We’re not going to have you wait for nothing!

Just be on the look out on many of the Flight Simulation forums in the community for our press releases… I think that in the coming weeks they’re going to get more and more exciting!

Updates:

May 13th, 2007 by Luke Harvest - COO

Things finally seem to be looking up for Arabian in terms of web and database development, though I do not want to sound overly excited just yet. As a matter of fact, things seem to finally be going according to plan.

However, that doesn’t mean that we don’t have a few obstacles; we do. We always do, and the fact of the matter is that challenges will never cease to exist for the company. However, one thing will make us more able to meet these challenges: organization.

More often than not, airlines are incredibly disorganized and overworked, with the bulk of the work falling on one individual that, as is, is already over worked. But the beautiful thing is now, I’m beginning to be more comfortable with the airline’s direction, especially since there’s almost a consensus among staff and analysts pertaining to the path that the airline intends to take.

Now, take this as an insider’s tip, but the airline is really interested in the A380-900 and it’s development, and will be watching it very closely. It seems like a perfect option for our expansion plans after 2010. But hey, I never said anything, right?

And then again, I won’t mention anything about some new paint jobs coming out of the paint shop, I mean, it’s not like anyone reads this thing anyways, right? **winks**

And as a note, all readers have the ability to comment on entries and ask questions, so by all means, please do.
